Our July 10, 2012 guild meeting was a night of business (some) and FUN (lots)!!!!

This was a dessert meeting - what is that, yousay? Well....it's delicious. Everyone brought along a dish of dessert made from one of their favoirte summertime dessert recipes to share with everyone else. Ahhh, so much dessert....so little room to put it! We were all warned not to waste our appetities on dinner before the meeting!

As we all enjoyed dessert, that ranged from summertime fruit pizza to Bailey's Chocolate raspberry Mousse, we perused the wares that were donated by our members for the Teacup Auction, just before we buckled down to business (just for a bit!).

Executive Board nominations were accepted from the floor. Elections for the 2012-2013 AQG Executive Board will take place at the August 7, 2012 meeting, with additional nominations for all positions taken on the floor just prior to commencement of the balloting. New officers will assuming their posts from the AQG meeting of September 4, 2012 to the September 2013  guild meeting. Nominations as of the July 10th meeting were: Secretary - Shiela C.; Treasurer - Tina K.; Vice President - Jackie B.; President -  Mary M.M. vs Barb S. We are also seeking volunteers to take over the posts of Program Coordinator (currently held by Linda VanS and Pam S). Following the business meeting, and just a bit more dessert, we had the drawing of the winning bids for the Teacup Auction. Louise H. and Kay T. seemed to be the big winners of the loot. How many bids did they buy, anyway?   Doesn't matter, just about everybody came away with a little something new to treasure.

We ended the night with, yes- you guessed it - a bit more dessert....and a few games of QUILTO (Quilters' BINGO). It was amazing how the normally chatty group of quilters hushed right up during the QUILTO games, so that the room was insilence except for the QUILTO caller. We take our QUILTO games seriously at AQG. A good time was had by all and a lucky few wnet home with a few dozen new fat quarters for their winnings!

Our next meeting is scheduled for August 7, 2012 - Executive Board Elections are on tap along with other AQG new and old business - and, of course, our usual Show-n-Tell where members show off their latest quilted creations.
